Kids BMX
BMX bikes sized for younger riders. Tough, simple and ready for the pump track. Ask Cranks Chatswood about current stock.
Choosing a kids BMX bike
Kids BMX bikes are a smaller, lighter version of the real thing, built tough enough for skateparks, pump tracks and the backyard ramp. A good one has proper brakes, sealed parts that last, and a frame sized for your child rather than one they'll "grow into".
Sizing by age and height
- About 5 to 8 years: 16 inch wheels and a short top tube.
- About 7 to 11 years: 18 inch wheels, or a mini 20 inch BMX.
- About 10 years and up: full 20 inch wheels with a junior top tube of around 19 to 20 inches.
Every child grows differently, so height and inside leg matter more than age. Bring your rider in and we'll check the fit and set the bars and brakes for their hands.
Don't forget a helmet
A BMX or skate-style helmet gives more coverage at the back of the head. We stock certified helmets and can fit one at the same time.
